Magnesium And Melatonin Together

Magnesium and melatonin for good nights sleep

Table of Contents

There has been so much more information lately on the importance of using melatonin for a variety of health issues.  Our own melatonin is produced in the peneal gland which is activated by darkness.  It is important to sleep in a very dark room without electronics, and nightlights.  This is especially true for newborns and small children if you want them and yourself to get a good nights sleep.

Melatonin is also increased and activated by magnesium.  My sister’s daughter, Erika, did not sleep through the night the first three years of her life.  This was over 30 years ago, now. Patricia and Erika were both exhausted, and finally Pat went into a natural health store for advice. They recommended magnesium. My sister gave her daughter magnesium and she slept through the night for the very first time. Erika has been taking magnesium ever since.

When my Mom was diagnosed with cancer five years ago I took her to a Naturopathic Doctor.  One of the first things that the ND did was put my Mom on 15 mg of melatonin each night.  Not only did it help Mom have a deeper, more healing sleep but melatonin is also recommended for its anti-infammatory and antioxidant effects.

We have a store owner in Stouffville who recommends our Heavenly Sleep Liquid melatonin to customers whose dogs are frightened during thunderstorms and fireworks.  She used it for her own dog and it worked so effectively that she started suggested Heavenly Sleep melatonin for animals who are hyper or upset during episodes of loud noises.

Magnesium, again, is always the first choice that I recommend for people who have sleeping problems – especially children – but for seniors who are no longer producing enough of their own melatonin, Heavenly Sleep along with Natural Calm is a great choice half an hour before bed!

Update: And now we have Calmful Sleep, the nighttime magnesium powder that includes melatonin and other natural ingredients to relieve insomnia.
