Benefits Of Topical Magnesium

Topical magnesium benefits - when and why to use

Table of Contents

Looking for an easy, inexpensive, effective way to treat your symptoms of magnesium-deficiency? Then transdermal magnesium may be for you!

“Transdermal”, as you might guess, is magnesium that’s absorbed through the skin, directly into the cells. That’s why it’s also called “topical magnesium”.

Ever tried an epsom salts bath? It’s the same idea. In an epsom salts bath, the magnesium sulphate soaks into the skin, relaxing tension, relieving pain, and treating other symptoms of magnesium deficiency.

Our Natural Calm Magnesium Chloride Liquid, Spray and Gel products are like an epsom salts bath, but better. That’s because magnesium chloride is simply better absorbed, and thus more effective.

Benefits of topical magnesium

Transdermal magnesium offers all of the benefits of oral magnesium: relief from stress, sleep issues, anxiety, pain, and conditions associated with magnesium-deficiency, including osteoporosis, high blood pressure and diabetes.

It addresses systematic magnesium deficiencies, acts to improve the function of the cells and immune system, helps protect cells from oxidative damage and decreases inflammation.

If you’re already using Natural Calm magnesium citrate powder, you may wonder if and why you’d need anything else. Good question.

Natural Calm plus topical magnesium?

There are really three reasons you might choose transdermal magnesium:

1. You’re already taking oral magnesium, but you can’t get enough!

Some Natural Calm fans are more sensitive to the natural laxative effect of oral magnesium citrate. They may need more magnesium to address their symptoms of deficiency, but they just can’t get enough orally. Transdermal magnesium bypasses the digestive tract, heading directly to the cells, which means there’s less chance of a laxative effect.

If you rely on Natural Calm to stay regular, this is really a non-issue for you. But if you’re taking two teaspoons of Natural Calm powder a day and still have some tension or symptoms of deficiency, try adding in a transdermal.

2. You need your magnesium pronto!

Transdermal magnesium is the fastest way, after intravenous, to get magnesium into your cells. If you’re hit with a muscle spasm, headache, or other forms of pain and tension, transdermal magnesium is a really convenient way to fight back, fast!

Pack it in your gym bag or keep a bottle at your desk. Even if you don’t have time to whip up a cup of Natural Calm, you can quickly spray on our magnesium chloride.

Athletes and anyone who suffers from joint, muscle and even nerve pain (think fibromyalgia!) love magnesium chloride liquid for fast relief. And we hear from long-term users of magnesium chloride liquid who see an improvement in the health of their bones, ligaments, and afflicted joints.

3. A hot, tasty cup of Natural Calm just isn’t for you.

Maybe you’re not one to stop and prep a cup of Natural Calm. You’re on the go, and you need something that takes no more than a few seconds (spritz, spritz, spritz, done).

Or maybe you or your children don’t (gasp) like the taste of Natural Calm. I know, it’s rare, but it happens that some kids (and it’s usually kids) don’t immediately fall in love with the natural fruit flavours and stevia-sweetness.

Even kids can use transdermal magnesium. Choose the pre-diluted formula that comes in a spray bottle, the gel (great for massage) or make your own massage oil by mixing magnesium chloride liquid with some coconut oil. Rub into their little muscles after a bath. It’s totally kid-therapeutic!
