Who knew that one of the best ways to beat both stress and hunger involves eating almonds? Almonds are a good source of magnesium, B vitamins and zinc—which are important for balancing mood and decreasing stress and anxiety!

A serving of almonds contains heart-healthy fats and protein too; so they’re a perfect snack during a busy workday or on the go.

This recipe involves toasting the almonds at a low temperature in order to preserve the healthy fats, yet still gives the almonds a delicious roasted flavor.”

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

2 cups whole almonds
1 tablespoon coconut oil
½ teaspoon ground chipotle chili powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
¼ teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon sea salt

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 170 degrees F
  • In a small bowl, toss almonds with coconut oil, chili powder, paprika, cumin and salt
  • Lay flat on a sheet pan and bake for 15–20 minutes turning at least once, until nuts are toasted. Enjoy warm
  • Once cool, store in an airtight container and enjoy within seven days
